FAQ's
What fluid should I clean out my sprayer with
|
Clean out your sprayer with the solvent recommended for the product you are using
(Read the label on the paint container) |
How do I store my sprayer for long periods?
(when freezing is NOT a concern)
|
Solvent based lacquer units should be stored in lacquer thinner
Water based lacquer units should be stored in pump conditioner
Latex and oil units should be stored in a mixture of paint thinner and motor oil |
How do I keep my sprayer from freezing?
|
lacquer units can be stored in lacquer thinner
oil units can be stored in paint thinner
latex & water-bourne lacquer units can be stored in windshield washer anti-freeze |
How do I switch from latex to oil-based paint?
|
Thoroughly flush the unit with the correct solvent for the paint you have sprayed then "condition" the unit with the solvent for the material that you are spraying next |
Should I spray solvent based lacquer through a
sprayer that I have sprayed latex or oil with?
|
NO! The solvent in the lacquer will eat the layers of paint built up inside the sprayer's suction tube, plugging up valves and filters, and spitting out onto your work surface
|
Can I spray latex or oil based paint through a
sprayer that I have sprayed solvent based
lacquer?
|
Yes - but the sprayer should not be used for solvent based lacquer after that, and you need to condition the sprayer first with the appropriate solvent for the material you want to spray |
How do I choose the right tip?
|
Read the label on the paint container. Often the manufacturer will recommend the correct tip size. Click on the link to "The Primer" and read up on tips |
